Welcome to World Food Tunbridge Wells Ltd (“we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made in store or through our website. By accessing our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions & Interpretation

In these Terms, “Goods” means any products we sell; “Customer”, “You”, or “Your” means any individual or business placing an order with us; “Website” refers to our official online platform for ordering or browsing our products.

2. Eligibility to Purchase

To place an order, you must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract. You agree that all details provided are accurate, current, and complete.

3. Order Acceptance & Contract Formation

All orders placed online constitute an offer to purchase goods. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order. A contract will only exist once we confirm the order via email or dispatch the goods.

4. Pricing & Availability

Prices are displayed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable. Product availability is subject to change. In case of pricing or description errors, we will notify you before processing.

5. Promotions & Discounts

From time to time, we may offer promotional discounts, vouchers, or loyalty points. These are subject to specific terms and may not be combined unless otherwise stated.

6. Delivery Terms

We deliver throughout the UK. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout but may vary due to factors beyond our control. If you are unavailable to receive the delivery, re delivery charges may apply.

7. Risk & Title

Ownership of the goods passes to you once full payment has been received. Risk transfers upon delivery or collection, whichever occurs first.

8. Product Quality & Description

We strive for accuracy in product descriptions. Packaging may differ slightly from images shown. Minor variations do not affect the quality or substance of the goods.

9. Returns & Refunds

Certain items, such as fresh produce, cannot be returned. Please refer to our Returns & Refund Policy for full details.

10. Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of the goods purchased. We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including the logo, images, and product descriptions, remains our intellectual property and may not be reproduced without permission.

13. Events Beyond Our Control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, transport disruption, strikes, or pandemics.

14. Complaints & Feedback

We value all feedback. Complaints can be submitted in writing to our store address or by email. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any updates will be published on our website and become effective immediately.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Alcohol sales – Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 05/06/2025

1. Legal Age Requirement

By placing an order for alcohol through our website, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 years of age or older (or the legal drinking age).
  • You are legally permitted to purchase and consume alcohol.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where we believe this condition is not met.

2. Age Verification

We operate a Challenge 25 / ID Verification Policy.

Valid ID must be shown upon delivery if requested. Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • PASS approved proof of age card

Failure to provide valid ID will result in refusal of delivery.

3. Delivery of Alcohol

Alcohol deliveries must be received by:

  • The named customer, OR
  • Another person aged 18 or over at the delivery address

Our delivery drivers are legally required to request ID where age is in doubt.

4. Failed Delivery / Customer Not Present

If no one is available at the delivery address:

  • Alcohol items will not be left unattended or in a safe place
  • The order may be returned to our store
  • A redelivery fee may apply
  • In some cases, the alcohol portion of the order may be cancelled and refunded (excluding delivery costs)

5. Refusal of Alcohol Delivery

Our delivery team has the right to refuse delivery if:

  • Valid ID is not provided
  • The recipient appears intoxicated
  • The recipient is aggressive or unsafe
  • The recipient is under 18

No refund will be issued for delivery charges in these cases.

6. Compliance with Licensing Laws

All alcohol sales are subject to licensing laws and regulations.

We reserve the right to:

  • Cancel orders
  • Refuse sales
  • Request additional verification

To remain compliant with legal and payment processing requirements.

7. Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • Alcohol consumed irresponsibly after delivery
  • Orders placed fraudulently using someone else’s details

8. Alcohol Packaging & Labelling

All alcohol orders will be packaged securely and clearly labelled.

Packages containing alcohol may include:

  • “18+ Age Restricted Product” labelling
  • “ID Verification Required on Delivery” labelling
  • Courier handling instructions for age-restricted goods

These labels are used to notify delivery partners that age verification must be completed before handover.

9. Use of Third-Party Courier Networks

Where we use third-party delivery companies:

  • We will notify the courier that the parcel contains age-restricted goods
  • We may apply external packaging labels indicating 18+ delivery requirement
  • We will request couriers to follow their age-verification delivery process

However, final ID verification is carried out by the delivery driver at the point of delivery.

10. Courier Age Verification Requirement

Deliveries must:

  • Only be handed to someone aged 18 or over
  • Require ID check if the recipient appears under 25
  • Not be left in safe places, with neighbours, or unattended

If ID cannot be verified, the courier should:

  • Refuse delivery
  • Return the parcel to depot or sender
